At Aspire Credit Union, we loan out local money to local people… so you know what that means? We don’t sell your loan to a third party. We keep and fund in-house. Recently, several members called informing us that they received either a letter or a postcard about their mortgage or mortgage information, some of which had been fully paid back. DO NOT call the number on the card. This is a tactic to get your information.  Here is what you need to know:

 These are scams.

Here are the examples so you can be aware:

Blue or Yellow Postcard
❌The permit was issued in Florida. We are obviously not serving that area.
❌ On the bottom, it reads “Not affiliated with, sponsored by, and loan information not provided by Prairie FCU.”
❌ A simple google search indicates that this phone number is associated with fraudulent activity on forums.
❌ They include verbiage that makes you feel like you need to call right away.
❌ The Mortgage ID number is completely made up. This string of numbers doesn’t match our system or member number at all.
Snail Mail Letter
❌The bottom reads ” We are not affiliated with your current mortgage company.”
❌ They add words like ‘confidential’ and ‘private’ to try and gain your trust.
❌ The Contact our office number is a 1-800 is not ours
❌ Incorrect mortgage number
❌ Our letters would be mailed using our branded letterhead.
When in doubt, please call us at the Credit Union and we can verify any action you need to take.
