Aspire Credit Union Donates to Power of the Purse Bus Pass Challenge.
Press Release Minot, N.D. — Aspire Credit Union in Minot has donated over $3,000 to the Power of the Purse Bus Pass Challenge. Power of the Purse had nearly reached their fundraising goal of $5,040 when Aspire Credit Union made the contribution from their Employee Jeans Fund of $3,523.15.This donation will take the total raised so far to $8,305.25. Donations will be matched from Power of the Purse up to $5,040. The total at the end of January will be donated to Minot Public Schools to pay for bus passes for students.
“Annually we raise funds from our jeans days and this year we wanted to make a larger impact as a team by selecting one organization to donate to,” says Mindee Kohlman, CEO of Aspire Credit Union. “The Bus Pass Program is very impactful for the community, and we are pleased to contribute to it.”
The Minot Area Community Foundation’s Power of the Purse Giving Circle launched the Bus Pass Challenge in December 2021 to help get bus passes into the hands of students who may be struggling to get to school. The grant for bus pass funds was originally brought to Power of the Purse by Jim Hill Dean of students, Shannon Ostrom. The funds will be distributed throughout Minot Public Schools to assist students with transportation to and from school.
