Member Service Representative
Reports to: Operation Manager
Position Summary
Aspire Credit Union in Minot, ND is seeking an energetic and service minded individual with an enthusiasm to learn while serving our members. We are now hiring a full-time Member Service Representative. This position will provide the opportunity to expand your financial knowledge through education and hands on learning.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?
- Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service with a consistently positive attitude.
- Greet members promptly and create a welcoming experience from the moment they arrive.
- Accurately and efficiently process transactions in a fast-paced setting.
- Actively listen and ask thoughtful questions to identify member needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all transactions.
- Adhere to all operational, security, risk, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Represent Aspire Credit Union’s service standards: accuracy, responsiveness, courtesy, teamwork, and accountability.
- Work collaboratively with team members and maintain open, respectful communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing.
- Balance cash drawer daily and maintain proper cash limits.
- Identify and prevent potential fraud by following security procedures and verifying member identities.
- Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services that meet member needs.
- Assist members with account inquiries, online banking, and general service requests.
- Maintain confidentiality of member information at all times.
- Support branch operations, including opening/closing procedures and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
- Stay up to date on products, services, and compliance requirements through ongoing training.
SKILLS:
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a member first mindset.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Clear and effective communication with members and coworkers.
- Solid math aptitude and cash handling accuracy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous teller or banking experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to learn and follow operation and security procedures
EXPECTED HOURS:
- 40 hours per week with varying hours
- 2-3 Saturday per month (Saturday hours are 8am – 1pm)
