For the second year in a row, Aspire Credit Union is helping keep local students warm when it matters most. In response to ongoing needs within our community, Aspire Credit Union proudly donated over $1,700 in 2025 to the Minot Public School Foundation (MPSF) to provide essential warm winter gear for students, including gloves, hats, snow bibs, coats, and other cold-weather essentials.
North Dakota winters are unforgiving, and school counselors, teachers, and staff shared concerns about students facing the cold without proper winter clothing for outdoor activities and daily travel to and from school. This donation ensures children can stay warm, comfortable, and protected throughout the winter months.
“Supporting local matters because this is our community, these are our neighbors’ kids, our schools, and our future,” said Kevin Vigested, CEO at Aspire Credit Union. “When we invest locally, we see the impact firsthand. For the second year, we’re proud to help keep students warm so they can show up to school ready to learn, not worried about the cold.”
The donated winter gear includes high-quality items in a wide range of sizes to meet the needs of students of all ages. The MPSF has a distribution list ready for the students in need and will continue dispersal throughout the season.
“The MPSF is deeply grateful for Aspire Credit Union’s continued local support,” said Jamie Swensen, Executive Director of the MPSF. “This partnership makes a real difference for students who need warm winter gear. When students are properly prepared for our climate, they can focus on their education and fully participate in the school day. Aspire’s commitment to our local children truly shows the power of community.”
This donation reflects Aspire Credit Union’s ongoing commitment to community care and ensuring that every child has the warmth they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. The Minot Public School Foundation continues to welcome support from local businesses and community members to help meet the growing needs of students across the district.
